2010 Ford Transit Connect Taxi @ 2010 Chicago Auto Show: www.insideline.com 2010 Chicago Auto Show: www.youtube.com More Articles: www.insideline.com Car Prices & Info www.edmunds.com Twitter Feed twitter.com Facebook Page www.facebook.com Hi-Res Videos: www.hulu.com side-line Today Ford unveiled a taxi version of its 2010 Transit Connect utility van that will go on sale in late 2010. In addition to its reconfigured interior, the Transit Connect Taxi will also offer fleet operators the option of running the vehicle on compressed natural gas or propane. “While meeting with taxi operators in cities throughout the US, we found considerable interest for vehicles that run on alternative fuels,” said Mark Fields, Ford’s president of The Americas. “The Transit Connect Taxi, combined with an engine modified by Ford to use CNG/LPG, is designed to meet that need. This marks a new era in ‘green’ transit.”
I have a friend who works for a taxi company and gets paid by a check that doesnt have any tax taken out. Also, at the end of the year he never recieves a 1099. Is there any reason why the taxi company would not provide a 1099 ?? Is it illegal for the taxi company to not give a 1099? I am very confused about this. Is there some type of exemption if you are considered as a indepent contractor or self employed for the employeer to not give some type of 1099? I am very frustrated about this. Thanks for all the help!
He drives his own cab so therefore it would be a independent contractor or self employment. He pays for his own gas and automotive expensives. I don’t know what to make of the situation.
Also they deduct $500 per week as a lease but it is not shown in the check he recieves. The check only shows his name and the amount.
